The Big One

This weekend we celebrated Johnny's first birthday.  It was a beautiful moment of light, smiles, and sweet stuff!

Happy Earth Day!

Today, for me, is a more important date than Christmas, my birthday, and even my wedding anniversary (and equally important to Johnny's birthday) because it celebrates Earth - our Green Spaceship that gives all of us shelter, food, water, and air; it enables not only our survival, but the very chance to experience love and happiness, to grow and to become better.  As many of you know, I am a very passionate environmentalist, and I care deeply about Nature and animals.  I try to live in a way that would allow my child to keep experiencing those good things, and I aim to set an example for him, to raise him aware about the implications our choices have for the world, and to show him how great this world is, and how many amazing things there are out there, things that are nothing short of miracles.

Notting Hill Carnival 2008

The Notting Hill Carnival was one of the raunchiest, drunken, colorful, and loud street parade I've ever attended.  There was a lot of Caribbean food, African dances, and scores of regular Londoners watching the show, hanging out, and enjoying themselves.  Also, there was a lot of humping.  Let's leave it at that, and allow the images to speak for themselves.  I took these with my digital point&shoot Kodak.

Rad Red Ranuculus

Oh boy.  This was such a pleasure to shoot - fresh Farmers' Market flowers, morning window light, Shelby, and Johnny, trying to eat the petals/overturn the vase.  I love doing personal work at home, and I find the combination of white, green, and red in these very charming!  Enjoy!
